Nobel Systems and its subsidiary company in the Philippines, GeoNobel, hosted a map-making contest to celebrate GIS Day.
Having a day of GIS activities open to students, citizens, and government leaders will help promote STEM education and inspire others to a higher calling to use technology for good; and GeoNobel Inc. is committed to utilizing GIS as a platform for innovation to inform decision making bodies and better serve its stakeholders and make useful geographic information open and easily available to the public.
This year GeoNobel Inc. in partnership with Bayawan Water District in Negros Oriental, Valencia Water District in Bukidnon, and Teresa Water District in Rizal joins hundreds of organizations worldwide in hosting virtual gatherings that will celebrate the impactful work of GIS professionals and serve to ignite the imagination of the future innovators who will further advance global progress using GIS.
Following is a Facebook video event celebrating GIS Day in Teresa, Rizal explaining GIS and the possibilities for women to pursue a career in the field. The Teresa Water District is a cosponsor of the presentation. Note, the talk does not start until about the 17-minute mark.
