Twentynine Palms Water District (TPWD) is an independent special district that provides water services to Twentynine Palms and surrounding unincorporated areas in Riverside County.
The District lies on the southern edge of the Mojave Desert, 54 miles northeast of Palm Springs, and adjacent to the Little San Bernardino and Pinto Mountains. The District manages the local ground water supply and serves about 18,000 residents in an area of 87 square miles. The District has about 8,000 meter services, 200 miles of pipeline and 17 million gallons of water storage capacity.
