ACWA Conference Highlights Water Policy, Management

Laura Tate · Leave a Comment

Water state and federal policy, and water management are the focus of the 2019 ACWA Spring Conference & Exhibition taking place May 7-10 in Monterrey. Nobel will address in-field management using real-time data at the conference on May 7.

California has recently seen an eight-year-long drought end, but the importance of making sure the state’s water supply stays plenty, safe and affordable is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.

The ACWA conference will include events and speakers to address federal and state policies and funding that affects all water agencies, including urban and agricultural water suppliers, and small and large water organizations.

Drought contingency planning, funding for safe water supplies, water management and reliability and more are on the slate for discussion forums at ACWA.

Highlights of the conference include an appearance by new State Water Board Chair Joaquin Esquivel.

Esquivel will talk about the State Water Board’s policies on safe drinking water, in addition to an update on the Bay Area Delta Estuary Water Quality Control Plan. He will also address his vision on how the water board will engage with the water community and other stakeholders for the future.

Conference programs cover a wide range of topics from water regulations for cannabis growers, water systems data privacy, and water rate and regulation trends to water systems education’s importance for the future of the water industry.

In-Field Management with Real-Time Data

Nobel Sytems team members at ACWA will address the topic of “Reimagining In-Field Management using Real-Time Data.” The talk takes place on May 7, 10 a.m., Colton 1 in the Monterey Conference Center.

The talk and demonstration will cover subjects such as working within a connected environment with field crews.

Business Development Executive Todd Lushinksy will also talk about integrating systems such as Business Intelligence, CMMS, Billing, Inventory, and infield apps like valve exercising, hydrant flushing, and real-time monitoring of pipelines for pressure loss and water quality.

Visit Nobel at Booth 219 during the conference to see the company’s GIS/IoT Asset Management solutions for water utilities.

The conference takes place May 7-10, 2019 at the Monterey Conference Center, Portola Hotel and Monterey Marriott in Monterey, CA.
